     Beginner Course

Windsurfing in Sal (Cape Verde) with Surf Zone-Cabo Verde

Surf Zone offers a 3 hour beginner course for those wanting to take up wind surfing as a sport. The course starts on the beach with theory and practice on a finless board and sail, and then moves into the bay. The course focus's on teaching you to turn, direct the board, as well as how to go into and out of the water safely. Where requested the instructor will include an introduction to the harness. However, this is usually done on the 5 hour course.

By the end of the three hours, you should be able to take your equipment in the water, surf the bay, go out and come back to the same position, and take your equipment out safely. The location of the school at the top of the Bay, makes it the best location to windsurf, as there is plenty of room to drift and the water is calm.

After 3 hours you will be in a great position to rent the equipment and surf in the bay!
