Windsurfing Holiday on Sinai peninsular

Dahab is great for windsurfing holidays, it is located on the south eastern side of the Sinai peninsular facing Saudi Arabia across the Gulf of Aqaba. The scenery is spectacular, starting with the transfer from Sharm el Sheikh airport (approx.. 1 hour) winding through cliffs and wadis. In Dahab, the mountains make a picturesque background to the sparkling blue sea.

Dahab has an impressive wind record with around 300 days a year of winds between Force 4 and 7. It also has the benefit of a range of conditions to suit all levels of windsurfer. The flat water runs from the beach for 2km before you get past the protection of the sandbank and into the swell coming down the Gulf of Aqaba. It is ideal for beginners, intermediates and slalom blasting.

FUN SYSTEM
Located at the Swiss Inn, the Fun System centre stocks the latest Naish and JP boards and Neil Pryde sails. Located next door to the Planet Windsurfing centre it has the same excellent launch at the entrance to the lagoon. For those who want to improve their technique lessons often include video analysis, and organised trips regularly take place to the speed strip and wave spot.

SURF & ACTION (HARRY NASS)
Located at the Novotel Coralia, the Harry Nass Surf & Action centre has an ideal location for beginners on the 500 metre sandbank which is directly next to the centre (during high tide). A spit of land also protects the flat blasting area, giving a natural safety net for those who have not yet mastered the waterstart! There is also a new second centre at the Iberotel Dahabeya offering an excellent launch directly into the main bay.

Both centres has a large selection of the latest F2 and JP boards and Neil Pryde sails. Also, unique to the Dahab bay each person is given a radio linked to the station, as well as the usual rescue cover. Instruction is offered from Beginner to Advanced level throughout the year, and Rob Horne operates his clinics between April and November.

Accommodation & Center Details
THE DAHAB HILTON
The Dahab Hilton Hotel is built in the style of a Nubian village with gardens and small lagoons, the Hilton has its own private sandy beach. Just a short stroll down the beach from the Ganet Sinai, it gives the additional luxury of an international 5 star hotel. Facilities include a choice of bars & restaurants, a large swimming pool & childrens pool, tennis court, watersports centre (water-skiiing, kayaking) and Dive Centre offering daily shore-diving and courses.
All rooms have balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, private bathroom, hairdryer, Satellite TV, mini-bar and telephone. Club Mistral windsurf centre are based at the Hilton.

IBEROTEL DAHABEYA
Part of the superior class Iberotel chain, this brand new hotel (opened March 2004) is a welcome addition to the Dahab lagoon. With 95 tastefully furnished rooms you will be treated to excellent levels of service. Fresh, healthy international cuisine is served in the main buffet restaurant. An All-Inclusive option is also available which includes teatime snacks and cakes, soft drinks and local alcohol between 10.00 a.m and midnight. The beach and pool bar offer refreshing cocktails and drinks aswell as light snacks.

The freshwater swimming pool is heated in the winter, and other facilities include table tennis, volleyball, aerobics, billards and dive centre. The children's club is for 4 to 12 year olds and babysitting is available. All air-conditioned rooms have private facilities, balcony or terrace, satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer and mini-bar. A laundry and ironing service and boutique with photo service are all on site.
Harry Nass has a brand new windsurf centre at the Iberotel.

SWISS INN GOLDEN BEACH
Next door to the Ganet, the Swiss Inn gives the additional quality of an international 4 star hotel. From the spacious lobby, past the large pool to the rooms facing the sea or the Sinai mountains, it has an upmarket, though personal and relaxing feel. There is a main dining room serving buffet meals, and pool bar and beach bar serve snacks and drinks throughout the day. The freshwater swimming pool is heated in the winter. It has a children's club for 2 to 6 year olds and babysitting is available. All 146 air-conditioned rooms have private facilities, balcony or terrace, satellite TV, telephone, safe and mini-bar.

NOVOTEL CORALIA
Set in lovingly tended gardens the Novotel is an oasis in the dry surroundings of the Sinai. With the longest beach in the bay and the excellent Harry Nass Centre right on your doorstep you could not ask for more. All rooms are bungalow-style, with the larger category A rooms right next to the water and the standard category B rooms scattered throughout the gardens.
