Skyriders Club Mistral - Alacati
Location: Turkey
The Club Mistral centre is situated on an approximately 70-m-long beach and is about 60 m back from the shore. The building is protected from the wind and offers plenty of space; it also has showers, changing rooms and toilets. Murat's cosy beach restaurant, directly adjacent to the Club Mistral centre, offers meals and snacks for in-between-surfing periods.
The spot is a large, sheltered bay with a 500-m-long and 400-m-wide shallow section and magnificently shimmering turquoise water. To the south, the bay leads to the open sea. The constant wind, which blows sideshore from the left in summer, and completely flat water offer optimum conditions for windsurfers and kitesurfers and make this spot an excellent learning and training venue. Our kite boat takes kitesurfers to the kitesurfing bay.
The famous meltemi blows from the north from early June to late September. Usually, the wind is somewhat less strong in the morning, intensifies in the course of the day, before again waning slightly, towards evening. In spring and autumn, the Poyras is the prevailing wind; it blows sideshore from the right and brings nice little waves to Alacati, which break in the bay.
Even on high-wind days, there are nevertheless relatively gentle winds that are ideal for beginners and intermediates in the morning and late afternoon.
We have various types of accommodation to offer you, depending on your preferences, ranging from the Ileri surfers' hotel to the luxurious Sheraton Hotel in Ilica. The hotels are some distance from the centre but offer the possibility of taking a comfortable walk to one of the countless restaurant and bars in the evening, where you can finish off your surfing day in style. We offer a shuttle service to the centre which runs several times a day.
For those who prefer accommodation right at the centre, we recommend the comfortable Suezer Hotel.
