Often referred to as 'Little England' Barbados boasts some of the most varied conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing in the Caribbean. The wind you get in Barbados is the Northerly trade wind that blows between 15 and 25 knots through its peak season, which is usually between December and March. Outside of this the wind becomes a little bit more erratic, although you could luck out and get an awesome week later in the year.

THE WINDSURFING - CLUB MISTRAL
If you are looking to try your hand at wave sailing for the first time then this destination would be a perfect introduction. If you are already competent in the waves, then the sailing would allow you to indulge your passion to the fullest extent.

The centre offers ideal conditions for both wave novices and ambitious wave surfers. A reef, which is 250 m offshore, with 1-2m-deep water, offers a clean wave to ride down leewards. There are no limits to surfers' creativity here: conditions are ideal for both traditional wave windsurfing and 'new moves' like the push loop or the air jibe. The wind varies between side-offshore and side-onshore.

Silver Sands offers a basic style of accommodation on a quiet and secluded beach, with the windsurf / Kitesurf school on site, in 14 acres of gardens.

Studios with kitchenettes are available if you like the flexibility of self-catering, though if you'd rather be eating than cooking, the 2 restaurants will look after you. All rooms are comfortable, but we highly recommend you upgrade to the newer, Deluxe rooms.
